I should be at the gym!

I had a lovely chatty, giggly evening out last night with four special friends to celebrate the birthdays of two of them. We all live such frenetic lives, juggling jobs, children, pets, parents and all the other things that life throws at you, that we don’t manage to meet up as often as we’d like but when we do I always leave feeling completely renewed and restored safe in the knowledge that these girls couldn’t give two hoots if my hair’s frizzy or my nail polish is chipped and that they will always have my back.

The only problem with a chatty evening with such good company is that the hours slither past one after another, and before we know it we’re in danger of turning into pumpkins, which always leaves me in a content but snoozy state the next day, which on this occasion led me to completely forget to take my gym clothes when I pootled off to work. So, rather than waste my unexpected free time, I decided to come and talk to you lovely folks.

My sleepy start also meant that I didn’t have time to make lunch so I had to pop out to grab a sandwich, and that involves walking past my beloved Notcutts so obviously I was drawn in, and look what I found.

Brand new Gardeners’ World Magazine is out – whoop! I won’t be able to start flicking through until tomorrow but I’m looking forward to reading about Prince Charles and learning more about growing veg. I know HRH is passionate about gardening (although I do wonder how much he actually gets to do himself, what with all his king-in-training duties and all) and he’s concerned about climate change (even if the tangerine fraggle over the water denies its existence!) I completely get that he talks to his plants too, I do the same. I think they like to be told how pretty they are and how well they’re doing (hubby hasn’t had me sectioned yet so I can’t be too crackers!)

I also got myself a mister for my new air plant.

Doesn’t it look cute in its little terrarium? My heart’s telling me to get another one, but my head’s concerned that my track record with house plants isn’t enviable and it’s therefore best to see how I get on with this one little life first. I don’t know if this will be its final resting place (hopefully not literally anyway!) but for now I love that’s its hanging there overlooking my little patio bistro area.
